work day with extra brakes
Work day with extra brakes
I woke up early Monday morning, with thoughts of how to build a round pin, for Joey,
Grate thoughts about the old boards out in the barn, I could pull the nails, and use them as side boards, and all I'd need was the Main boards, as you can tell I don’t do a lot of wood work sense I have no clue what the proper names for what I need is.
I got up, got dressed for work, went down stairs, talked to my mommy about the wonderful Idea God gave me in the wee hours of the morning, and I could start to ride Joey again, the furrier said it’d be better to work him in a smaller pen so he wouldn’t spook as easily.
Mom looked at me with sleepy bugs in her eyes and basically said good luck!
I went and got a hammer, my work gloves so I wouldn’t get cut on the metal out there that’s suppose to be on the roof, my boots, so if Joey stepped on me again I'd be prepared! Just the day before he stepped on me and gave me a nice sized bruise! Owe!
But this time I went prepared! Woot woot!
I headed out to the Barn, moved the sheets of metal, and got to work,
as I worked I made lots of noise apparently, because Joey found me, and come loping up as happy as can be, the little goob about knocked me over, grr.
He expressed how much he missed me by rubbing gently on my back with his head, then reaching up to poll on my pony tail with the tip of his lips, He wasn’t bothersome at all, it was nice to have company, sense Sammy my Dog ran off as soon as Joe come up, (pore little guy, he’s so small, Joey scares him)
I wasn’t worried about him biting, we’d been through the biting cores many times and he knows not to, but fraid he dose if he gets mad, were working on his fits.
I forgot I had stuck my (yellow) work gloves in my back Pocket for safe keeping,
until they were pulled out....?
I put down my hammer and nail bare, then turned around to see Joey with both ears forward,(mischief pose) looking at me, with yellow fingers sticking out of his mouth! My first reaction was, he could choke, he ate the other one figure leaving 3 left out, what in the world!? I stood there dumb shocked, then his lips pulled back showing a bit of teeth, what a goob, he smiled at me and acted like he was shying away, I couldn’t help but to Laugh at the what I was dealing with, I pulled my glove out of his mouth and picked up the other one off the ground, returned them to my pocket and hugged the goober, then went back to work.
Being the Mischief boy he is, he was right in the way, so I scooted him over a bit, (tried) he didn’t budge! 'Joey, I have to get this done, move over,' I put one hand on his shoulder and the other on his hip, and pushed! He moved about an inch, I settled for that, it was all I really needed to pull nails.
There was an old trampoline cover in the pile of boards, tin sheets, hay rapping’s aka string, a tarp, wire, ok a junk pile! Lol.
Daisy my first horse (R.I.P.) was terrified of plastic noise, big pieces of mutual, and anything that could be caught by the wind.
A trampoline cover is all those things; I wondered how Joe would handle it if I pulled it out? I pushed him over some more, so if he spooked I wouldn’t be in the run way, I Pulled a lot out before it got stuck, I looked at Joey to see what he’d do with that much out, he was busy with a horse fly, (figures) so I bent over the cow panel which held all the junk in place, trying to get the cover unstuck from the nail. Wall my butt was in the air trying to detangle, the cover left from my hands with good force...? I stood up looked at ware it went...? to find Joey with part of it in his mouth, and stomping on it with a hoof, then he shook his head back and forth, like a wet dog would after giving them a bath, the cover looked like a bulk of water with how fast he moved it, dust flew every ware! He dropped it and blinked, I laughed then went back to work again, a couple minutes later........? Sammy was barking up a storm and Joe was groaning? I looked over to outside of the barn to see..Joey rolling back and forth like crazy to get the dust off.
I worked wall Joe cashed Sammy around the pasture! pore Sam, he asked for it though, Sam came in under the barn wall ware the wind tore off panels, and laid down to ketch his breath, I didn’t blame him, I set down my tools again to get a drink, what I didn’t know was that Joe had come back in, I turned around to fined....my (yellow) hammer was gone?? what?? I lifted a copal boards, nothing, ahhhhhhhhh! I was hot! Tierd, sore from hitting my finger, and now my tools were gone!...I looked at Joey as he was walking to the Big gate, 'Joe' he turned to me holding to hammer sideways! Get back here!!! He stood there staring at me yet again, I marched up to him! held out my hand and waited he started to turn back to the gate, I snatched the hammer, "what are you trying to do? make me go crazy!!!?' the only response I got was a big old lick on my noise......... that’s the pride and Joy of my Life!
